About the Artist
Born in Belgaum, a hamlet on the border of the states of Maharashtra and Karnataka, Maruti Patil has made a mark in landscape and figure drawing. The beauty and vitality of the artist’s expressions originates from his
childhood experiences of Belgaum and extends across the vast expanse of the country; from the heights of Himalayas through the coastal areas of Konkan to the rain forests of the south. His belief in the theory that change is vital for the birth of a new idea allows him to experiment with different styles and techniques. Giving a dreamy aura to everyday
elements without compromising on the harmony between them reflects his eye for dramatisation. He is completely free from all the preconceived ideas, methods and isms of the art world and expresses himself through an art form of his own.
